How to prepare for a ClubCycle Cambridge spin class

Whether you’re attending your very first ClubCycle class or you’re a seasoned member, feeling prepared for a class will allow you to relax and feel excited about the class. Remember, don’t be nervous. Spinning is an excellent form of exercise because it can be tailored to your fitness level, meaning that absolutely anyone can get involved. Most importantly… have fun!

1. Get to the studio with plenty of time, especially if it’s your first class

Arriving early for a spin class ensures that you have plenty of time to get to know the instructor, set your bike up, get to grips with the resistance levels, and nip for a last-minute loo break! If you’re attending your first ClubCycle Cambridge spin class, try to arrive around 10 minutes early, as this will give the instructor plenty of time to set you up. Once you feel confident with your bike set up and the studio, you can arrive around 5 minutes early.

The ICG app allows you to track your progress. Every session, you can connect the app to the bike and track how long you spent in each colour zone, how far you cycled, your average watt rate and even the number of calories burned. For those who like tracking their progress, numbers and stats, it’s a must-have app.

5. Drink plenty of water

Your body uses water in a number of ways during exercise. When you exercise, you sweat a lot and drinking plenty of water before you exercise is key to feeling strong and getting the most out of your class!

6. Prepare your bag

To take away any nervous energy, make sure that you’ve got everything you’ll need during and after the class packed before hand. Here’s some things you might want to take:

Making sure you have something to eat before the class will ensure that your body is supplied with everything it needs to reach peak performance! Whether you fancy a banana, a protein bar, or some cereal, ensuring that you have something to eat about an hour or so before your ClubCycle Cambridge spin class will help you push yourself!

8. Wear something you feel comfortable in

Finally, you want to feel comfortable and confident to your ClubCycle Cambridge spin class. You can wear whatever you want (within reason!). So it’s up to you whether you wear your favourite pink cycling shorts, a crop top or a baggy t-shirt!
